Once you pass through the front entrance to Southern Cross Stables, your equestrian fun and excitement begins. Once you've been there a few times and we know you're "good people", you'll have access to the facility to come and go. Visiting for the first time ... follow the road to the second gate and come on up to the guest house. Please remember to tell your friends about us.
Round Pen
Looking for a round pen for training? Look no further. We've got a 60 meter round pen ready and waiting. Whether you want to train your horse or pony, or teach individuals certain moments in a very controlled environment, our round pen is up to the task. Got a young horse or maybe one with "issues", we can work with your horse and get them trained to your liking. Boarders also have access to the round pen to lunge your horse before you go for a ride.
Turnouts
Boarding with us ... we have several turnouts available. We also keep our lesson horses here from time to time. We have some great lesson horses and ponies. Ask about our horses and ponies showing up at your house for that special birthday party.
Big Paddock
Our big paddock can be used for boarding, training, lessons, and basic grazing. Enclosed by a 6 foot high electrified fence, the paddock has two entrance points allowing easy access for training your horse or taking a lesson.
Riding Ring
This is one great horse riding ring. We do training, lessons, pony parties, sales and hacking in this arena. The arena has lights and has a sand base with a clay finish that has irrigation and is dragged by the John Deer Tractor. This ring is an oversize ring with Dressage letters for the Dressage rider and these letters can be used to train the beginner riders in lessons as well. We have seating along the side of the arena so that grandma and grandpa can come out too and watch the rides go on. We have a huge oak tree that offers shade and a picnic bench that really helps when folks have a pony party at Southern Cross Stables.
